This stack of quilt tops is waiting for backing, quilting and binding.
And yet I keep starting new projects. I'm pretty sure there are others around here but not only am I too lazy to quilt, I'm also too lazy to look for missing quilt tops. I've got a new quilt I'm planning with all the great Heather Ross fabrics that I've received through my swaps. I'm trying to be good and not start working on it but then I have
this one taunting me with comments like, "...it's a shame to let Heather sit on a shelf...". And
this one sending me HR scraps and
this one sending me HR
FQs. Enablers,
ya'll, I'm surrounded by them:0). I did start a new quilt top last night. It's a mini one so that doesn't count or does it?
Today was another good mail day. I received my block from
Kris :
This block is much prettier in person. The picture doesn't do it justice. The hand sewing on this is flawless! She's got a great tutorial on how to do the circles
here.
And thank you, thank you, thank you to all of you who commented about my
circle quilt . I woke up to an in box filled with
encouragement and it totally made my day. I guess we are all our own worst critics. I get
disappointed when what's in my head doesn't translate exactly the way I want it to on fabric. I took another look at the quilt top today and I think I'm going to leave it alone. I'm kinda digging it now...
Glad my block got to you safely and glad you like it! I agree that it doesn't quite look the same in pictures.
ReplyDeletethat's what my wordless wed post today was about, ALL the projects I have started and abandoned, and all the quilts that ARE backed, pinned and ready to be quilted yet they sit here... I haven't really accomplished much this summer... but some goodie tops are rocking!
ReplyDeleteOh my, that is a lot of quilt tops!
ReplyDeleteWe all have something that is sitting in the corner waiting to be finished. That is one cute circle block, can't wait to see what you do with it. Happy sewing!
ReplyDeleteThat's why I only work on one quilt at a time! Oh, well I guess i'm actually working on two right now, but you know what I mean.
ReplyDeleteI am like that with my cross stitching. So far, I have managed to keep my quilting under control.
ReplyDeleteHei, what about me? I am knitting also and all the corners are filled with UFOs...
ReplyDeleteI have a stack of unquilted quilts, too. And I just have no desire to sit down and quilt them. *sigh*
ReplyDeleteWhat a relief! Here I was feeling oh so guilty about having three quilt tops on the go. No need for guilt - I can just keep referring all my critics to the picture of your blog. BTW all your works-in-progress look gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHello and nice to meet you!
ReplyDeleteI love everything that you have done and I can't wait to see more!
love the dotty block... super cute!!
ReplyDeletei love your stack of quilts! finished or not. :)
